There will be information regarding on power levels and how much they influence your post. The higher the level the greater sacrifice a character has to make. Levels will be 1 through 9, where 9 requires death.
May be making it where characters first created can only create powers up to level 5.

That's a cool idea. Though there could probably be powers that use human injury or sacrifice, considering how dark this rp is xD

maybe level 4-5 require some sort of self injury? then 7-9 some sort of animal or human sacrifice?

2-3 requires some sort of element sacrifice? Like fire, wind, water, earth? Then level 1 is free and natural on the body, however requires certain types of emotions for power.

adding too lazy to post anywhere else:
Members are allowed to create their own races Every character must start at 1 star power level, only 1 character per member can have 4 star.
Stars will be magic rankings, since magic requires work, I will be basing this system on Hunter X Hunter. Basically the more stars you have the more mana and easier to do spells.

Light magic will require conditions, Dark magic will require sacrifice, neutral magic is the combination of both.

I think there is a good basis that you guys figured out, but here is my input on it:
Dark Magic
Level 1 - natural power that is born with the user/race.
Level 2 - The user must choose an element to 'bond' with which will therefor need a sacrifice to use. Ex: If you bond with fire, you will need to sacrifice something either to fire or sustain a burn on yourself. The larger/more painful the sacrifice, the more powerful the attacks.
Level 3 - Same as level 2, except attacks become stronger in the basic sacrifice.
Level 4 - Requires a monetary sacrifice or starvation sacrifice. Once you use a power from this area, you must either offer up the equivalent in money, or be unable to digest food for a certain period of time (not long enough to kill).
Level 5 - Self injury sacrifice {similar to the punishment in Darker than Black}. Some sort of self injury must take place
Level 6 - Requires an animal sacrifice or a self-sacrifice {self-sacrifice involve not harming yourself, but causing nightmares, depression, ect.}.
Level 7 - Requires an animal sacrifice.
Level 8 - Same as level 7, except the animal must be associated with the user. Ex: spirit animal is a dog, must sacrifice a dog
Level 9 - Must die to move on to the next level. Sacrifices no longer required. You sacrifice yourself.
**Be very careful with the sacrifices part. Some may break ProBoards TOS because of self-harm and animal sacrifices. This is a dark rp, but certain guest/users might throw a fit about it. It is a good idea, but maybe try to develop something slightly less dark as to not offend/trigger anyone and get a warning?
Light Magic:
Level 1 - Nothing is required
Level 2 - Requires practice in one of the elemental magics. Ex: practice in fire.
Level 3 - Requires meditation and self-starvation to reach enlightenment.
Level 4 - Requires knowledge in basic magic usage of all types {can only be learned from a master}
Level 5 - Same as level 4, except requires extensive meditation.
Level 6 - Requires physical meditation. Ex: performing katas from a martial art while meditating without interruption.
Level 7 - Same as level 6 except it requires self-starvation for three days.
Level 8 - Requires the self-sacrifice of your spiritual guide {can be retained at level 9}
Level 9 - Requires the self-sacrifice of death.
Mixed Magic:
Can choose one or the other ways of gaining levels, but can not do three in a row. Ex: if you do three level ups in a row in Light Magic, then you can only use Light Magic. Switch between light/dark/light/light/dark/dark/ect.

The levels sound great, I like how Light magic focuses more on meditation and calmness of the mind.
Not sure what to do about the TOS, if following this system there might be too many dark plots and ideas for the proboard staff to tell us what needs to be removed... Although if you read the TOS anything that makes a roleplay realistic "racism, drugs, etc" that is normally in a rp should cause that rp to be deleted. I kind of wished the staff answered questions relating to twisting the pg-13 like sex being described by cooking breakfast, or drugs as in fake drugs, or etc...
Alrighty maybe not animal sacrific- hmmm when thinking about making the site, I was honestly willing to take the risk of getting deleted for TOS... but I don't believe those who spend time, heart, and their ideas to be wasted like that. so I guess we could reword it to make it more kid friendly.
What about instead of animal/Self it is monsters, items, or souls? That's less graphical.
Added: How about a sacrifice of life energy, emotions -rather than body parts?- ehh maybe just ban sacrificing animal and humanoid parts. though that would kill the fun, so maybe just don't list it to encourage the idea? Then if we get complaints copy the bio/posts on a different forum and delete all evidence off forum?

Oohhh, sacrifice of self could be losing part of your humanity.
Example: you are about to be level 7 and in order to rise to that level, you give up either:
-Being able to feel love/love others -Being able to feel joy/happiness -Part of your sanity -Ability to feel pain
Losing your ability to feel pain would actually be very deadly cause you can never tell when you are overheating, freezing to death, or how close you are to dying. Like someone shot in the chest won't feel it, but they will still die rather quickly from it. Pain or no pain.

Dark Magic

Level 4 - Requires a medium offering, usually that of an object. Offering and bonded element decides a new ability on this level. Example: Money with air element can could cause strong increase of air pressure.
Level 5 - Loss of outer humanity, allows magic to evolve into much darker power. Example: Hair, nail clippings, tears
Level 6 - Same as level 5, except must be permanently removed.
Level 7 - Loss of inner humanity. Example: sanity, pain, and/or true emotions.
Level 8 - Same as level 7, except must be permanently removed, plus strongly associated with the user. Example: The strongest love for their soul mate.
Level 9 - Must die to move on to the next level. Sacrifices no longer required. Usually extremely Roleplay changing power that could destroy a board or two.

Level 1 - Natural power that is born with the user/race.
Level 2 - Must open their eyes to aurora and spirits around them, completed by 3 virtuous actions with pure innocent emotional state. User will bond with an element spirit, whose element power can be used without sacrifice to given element. Aurora levels of user will determine element power levels used, aurora build requires meditation and emotion control to build.
Level 3 - begin to practice "virtues of the heart". As soon as user becomes more virtuous, two other element spirits will be drawn to that user, to help guide user.
Level 4 - Requires reaching a sort of medium tranquility through meditation. Gain basic Knowledge of how to use and combine bonded three element spirits.
Level 5 - Same as level 4, except requires extensive meditation. More power without as much aurora usage, allows flexibility with power.
Level 6 - Requires physical meditation, such as peaceful defense fighting arts. Users usually gain higher agility and knocking out enemies without little to no aurora power.
Level 7 - Same as level 6, except it requires life understanding and complete peace of mind. Allows user to completely access and speak to other element spirits and beings.
Level 8 - Requires a complex ritual only accessible through staff given events. Allows user to combine and speak with natural spirit animal.
Level 9 - Must release all of users life energy to what they wish for most. Usually extremely Roleplay changing power that could destroy a board or two.
Neutral Magic
